Jerry Venturino just stepped down as the Head Football Coach of the Jefferson Township Falcons. He guided his team to a sectional state championship in 2021, where he was named NJ Herald Coach of the Year, along with his team being honored with the "Team of the Year" award.
Prior to his tenure at Jefferson Township, Coach Venturino coached football for ten years at Hopatcong High School, where his team was the Liberty Division Champions and he was awarded “Sussex County Coach of the Year” for the 2014 season. Coach Venturino also played HS football for Hopatcong High School and was the quarterback for the 2001 State Championship Team.
He has experience coaching all positions, including the offensive and defensive lines, skill positions, and special teams. Coach Venturino played the quarterback position at Moravian College and was 2005 team MVP while earning his BA in Sociology and Elementary Education.
Coach Venturino continues to be an elementary teacher at Jefferson Township and spends his time coaching both his sons who play for the Newton Braves Youth Football League. He stays current at the HS level, as he is on the Executive Committee for the Phil Simms North vs. South All-Star Classic in the state of NJ. Coach Venturino gives back by presenting on various football topics at Glazier Clinics and other state and county clinics as well.
Coach Venturino is also the Owner of Top Notch Football, where he organizes camps and training sessions for all positions.
